Frequently asked questions:

1. What is automatic mount? Will it work for me?

The app listens for USB_DEVICE_ATTACHED and BOOT_COMPLETED intents. If your device does not send the intent, automatic mount will not work.

Also, once main app should have been opened manually beforehand for it to work.

2. What is automatically open file manager?

After mount, the app can automatically open the file explorer..

Only some file managers (eg OI File Manager) support the intent for opening at a specified folder and are recommended.

Other file managers are just launched and are indicated with an asterix (*).

3. How to enable exFAT support?

The exFAT binaries are not included in the app.

To install:

  1. You can download the binaries from http://tinyurl.com/usbotg-exfat
  2. Extract mount.exfat-fuse and dumpexfat binaries
  3. Place them at the root of your sdcard (eg /mnt/sdcard)  OR in /system/bin directory.
  4. Enable exFAT option in settings.

Warning: exFAT is experimental. Please do not use it with important data. If vold (in your phone) tries to mount it as FAT, it may cause data corruption even before my app has chance to mount it. This, or other reasons can cause data corruption. You have been warned. The developer of this app will not be responsible for any damage or data loss.

4. Why was debugging data mail removed from free version?

Donate key app was added as I was receiving hundreds of mails with debugging data, for which I cannot do justice. So this way, I can prioritize support to those who donate.

Also, this way you can support an independent developer.

PS: You can still manually mail me the logs.
